These noodles are called “Ban Mian” and is a local street food in Fujian China, where I grew up! My grandma used to make this all the time – the best part about it is that it involves peanut butter
Here is the recipe to my version of it! I promise this still tastes just as good:
CHINESE TOSSED NOODLES (Fujian Ban mian)
SERVES: 1
INGREDIENTS:
- 100g wheat noodles (or noodles of choice)
Noodle Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon peanut butter
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tablespoon maple syrup (or other liquid sweetener)
METHOD:
- Cook your noodles as per packet instructions
- In the meantime, make the sauce by whisking together all the ingredients.
- Toss the noodles in the sauce and serve hot!
I added some satay tofu here make the meal more substantial!
So easy & so tasty! Definitely let me know if you try making these noodles!
